Group Therapy
The Alliance offers therapy groups periodically. Group therapy is a type of therapy involving a group of individuals coming together regarding their experience or issues with the main therapy topic of that specific group. Therapy groups are usually designed regarding a specific topic, for a set age range, for a set amount of time. A closed group is one where those who start the group all go through the group and end it together. An open group is a group open to new participants throughout the group process. The therapist who moderates the therapy group helps individuals in the group form a trust that ultimately helps group members learn and support one another through the moderated therapy elements provided by the clinician. The Alliance offers therapy groups with a variety of therapy topics and designed for a variety of ages.
New therapy groups will be posted here as they are available for registration.

I started therapy at The Alliance for C-PTSD, and the professionalism combined with their compassionate nature immediately put me at ease. With guidance I have learned effective ways to cope with my triggers and my trauma. Recently, I have been unable to make it to the office, but I am relieved that through telehealth I can continue my therapy with someone I trust.

"We have the privilege of both of our children working with providers at Alliance. Dr. Colwell is not only phenomenal at what he does, but he has the ability to connect with his clients with compassion and understanding while also providing tools and techniques specific to each individual. The kids’ therapist has been a wonderful addition to our lives, helping us come up with strategies that we can use in the home as a family, providing a safe space for our children to communicate, and non-judgmental support to us, as parents, when we are struggling. Alliance providers go above and beyond for their clients. We are very grateful that we have found this practice, not only as a support to us as parents, but also as a place where our children can learn, grow, and develop strong coping skills that they can bring with them into adulthood."
